Sequitur InGPS TDOA is a decentralized RTLS architecture, which uses the Time Difference Of Arrival (TDOA) technique for localization.
InGPS TDOA works in a way similar to the Global Positioning System (GPS). As the GPS, unlimited number of tags can be managed and localized simultaneously by InGPS TDOA at the maximum refresh rate.
Sequitur InGPS implements a proprietary technique that allows wireless synchronization without the need of neither a master node nor any form of clustering/coordination among anchors. This gives the possibility to avoid a central unit and ensures outperforming service area scalability (seamless addition of anchors and enlargement of the operating area with no need of wired anchors’ connection and/or network planning).
Ideal solution for tracking in very large networks with big floats of moving machines, robots and equipment. Navigation enabled also in GPS-denied areas, since the position is available locally at tag side (no need of connections with central units to gather the tag position usually leading to latency issues and connection unreliability).
InGPS TDOA is suitable for large and heterogeneous environments. Decentralized management allows nodes to dynamically join and leave the network during normal operating mode. For this reasons, decentralized management does not require a network infrastructure, a central control unit and master nodes for coordination.
InGPS tags can be carried by robots, machines, forklifts, trolleys and can be connected through Ethernet, Wi-Fi, serial or other industrial standards. External power supply needed (battery pack or wide range of supply voltage accepted). Possibility of sensors data fusion for increased reliability and accuracy is enabled.
Simple UDP-based APIs with extensive documentation are provided for interacting with InGPS tags. The professional Sequitur Manager and its web-based Sequitur User Interface enable a simple configuration, managing and monitoring of the network, including the 3D real-time visualization of the tags’ positions. REST APIs are available for high-level interfacing with third-party software.
